One account. Nothing more.
No email, no newsletter. Just a name and a password so your progress stays. What you achieved as a guest comes along – and so do running games.

What is an account for?
Only so that your games and progress are still there tomorrow. You can play just as well without one – then the server forgets your progress 24 hours after your last game.
What is stored with an account
- Your name – the one you pick here. It doesn't have to be your real one.
- Your password – only as a hash. Nobody, not even the operator, can read it.
- Per finished game: opponent (computer level or “live”), your colour, result, reason, number of moves, time control, whether you used hint or take-back, date and time. Not the moves themselves and not who your opponent was – except in correspondence games.
- Correspondence games, if you play any: the account names of both players, the moves, times and the result – until 30 days after the end.
- A cookie so you stay signed in for 30 days. It only holds a random id.
Nothing else: no email, no ads, no tracking, no sharing. You can download your data or delete your account with everything at any time. The details are in the privacy policy.
